GMS started as a demolition Derby team, consisting of Jeremy and Christina Gray. Jeremy has been running in demo derby’s for 17 years and when he and wife Chris got together she got hooked also. Over the years they have taken numerous heat wins and one main feature win. As there blended family got older the boy (Josh) wanted to get into racing. Hence the start of a new generation of racing.
Our History
2002 - Josh Beardsley, driver for Gray’s Motorsports, started in Go Karts. Jeremy Gray, owner/operator, established him self out of a little 10 x 10 shed in the back yard. With an asphalt go kart, Jeremy built a kart to run on a dirt oval track in Caledonia, NY. Josh’s first year he finished 11th. Left during second year 3rd in points.
2003 - with a newer Kart designed for the track, Josh won several heats, and a few features. But was getting a little restless, looking for something faster. Before the end of the season it was decided that they were going to move up to something faster and more challenging. After building a new 24 x 24 garage, the first race car was built.
2004 - WASP; four cylinder class: Jeremy bought a 1990 Mazda Protégé from an impound auction for $30.00. Drove the car home and stripped all the glass, interior, and chrome from the car, to build a WASP 4 cylinder for Josh to run at Wyoming County International Speedway.
2005 - Street Stock. Jeremy bought a Monte Carlo SS for Josh to run at WCIS. The car was set to go, but Jeremy wanted his own flare. So the car was totally stripped and rebuilt from the ground up. We established the web site. Josh runs in his first Demo, check out the news to see how he did.
2006 -Super Stock. Same car a few improvements and a new paint job, stop over to Wyoming County International Speedway to check it out.
2007 -Super Stock. Gray’s Motorsports is going to be running on a number of tracks this year you will have to check us out each week to see where we go and how we do this year.
We also will be running a new class this year, we are building a pure stock car.
2008 -Street Stock. Gray’s Motorsports is going to also have a new driver for the year stop back for further information.
